Overhauling Console Experience in Baldur’s Gate
As a UI/UX Designer in a brief contract position, I tackled the challenges associated with the user interface in Baldur's Gate. Recognising the issues with action selection UI, my focus was on enhancing the overall user experience within the constraints of a limited timeframe.
Acknowledging the short-term nature of my role, I swiftly initiated changes to the action selection menu, introducing a more intuitive design for seamless navigation and decision-making. Simultaneously, I optimised controller responsiveness to eliminate any potential delays or frustrations during gameplay, striving to deliver impactful improvements within the project's timeframe.
Collaborating closely with the development team, I conducted efficient user testing to gather valuable feedback on the implemented changes. This iterative process allowed us to make rapid adjustments based on real user interactions, ensuring that the modifications positively impacted the overall gaming experience within the constraints of the brief contract period.
